ABOUT US

Humble Beginnings, 2003..

Nancy said “Is there no company in Colorado who can restore historic windows right?!” Springing off from a career as historic preservation architect and with a yearning to get her hands dirty, she determined to do it herself.

From a tiny unheated shop on Santa Fe Drive, the fledgling Lyons Historic Window company hired on and successfully restored 362 (massive!) windows in Horace Mann Middle School during the summer of ’06.  By 2012 they were selected for the State Capitol Dome project and the Union Station master makeover with a well-healed crew and a 5-star reputation.

We have downsized since those heady days, but kept the key players and every nugget of our experience and commitment to the highest quality, best pricing, and personized service.

The Mission

Historic preservation is ultimately about community and culture — connecting stories of those who went before us with ourselves — as portrayed in the rich fabric our man-made environment.

We are honored to take part in the renaissance of traditional craftsmanship and maintenance of our shared historic resources.  As we encounter the bricks laid by hand, plaster smoothed to perfection, wood windows with counterweights and solid brass ball-bearing pulleys — we know that we are doing the right thing.  Building community at home, in the workplace,  and the city.  Saving the planet..one window at a time.
